Throwing & Decorating Workshop with Kym Owens March 21/22 (Saturday and Sunday) 10 am - 5 pm with 1 hour lunch break Learn how to tackle the challenges of throwing and refine your pottery by learning multiple decorating techniques. Ceramic artist, Kym Owens has over 20 years of experience making functional thrown pottery. Owens will also demonstrate how to decorate your work using different decorating skills such as slip trailing, underglaze application and glaze inlay.
Please note that this workshop are for students who already have basic throwing skills.
Cold Process Soap (made from scratch) 2 Day Workshop Saturday and Sunday January 25/26 10am - 4pm $196 Work side by side with our resident master soap maker Gabby Cox from Soaps From Scratch and learn the step-by-step intricate instructions of cold process soap. Students will leave with the skills and confidence to start making soap at home, ready to take the first steps toward starting a soap making business or to enjoy a new hobby! You will learn a variety of recipes each yielding between 2-3 lbs (8-12 bars). The studio will provide all soap-making equipment, including writing journals and all safety gear (goggles, gloves, masks). This is professional grade, luxury soap made from high-end, all-natural ingredients with no artificial fragrance or preservatives. Natural Melt and Pour Soap Making 101 Sunday, February 9, 2:30 - 4:30 pm $45 We are excited to bring our favorite soap maker to the studio to help us learn the basics of this ancient and useful art - soap making! This is melt and pour, consider our longer workshop for cold process (protective gear is supplied) Gabby is a master and we are excited to create and play with her. Scents are essential oils only. Students leave with 12 bars of soap.

Saturday, February 22nd - Encaustic Beginner workshop including a focus on Stencils and Collage with Deanna Wood Saturday, March 7th - Encaustic Beginner workshop including a focus on Monotypes with Leigh Harrison Introductory Beginner Workshop ($130, all materials included) You will be learning a variety of techniques including how to build layers, fuse, texture, work with grids, stencils, embed objects, incise, transfer, collage and much more along with a working knowledge on how to use the equipment, appropriate substrates, how to melt and mix wax, a bit about the history of wax painting, a working knowledge of supplies and how to create your own workspace! All supplies included. You are welcome to bring stencils and collage materials but we have plenty here for your use.
