Ms. Kary/Kary Jane Hutto
Art has always been a part of my life. Growing up, my family and I went to museums and we lived in a very arty world as my mother is a fantastic water colorist. I’ve always been creative via fashion, teaching and making crafts, etc. I took watercolor in college and have been a writer for many years. I’ve always loved art and art museums and I collect children’s picture books. But, it was during my mom’s fourth chemo for breast cancer at age 48 that I felt a desire to ask my mom to teach me to draw and paint. It was at this point that a Pandora’s box of creativity and a desire to create art as much as I could was opened up!! 1 year later I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast cancer, and drawing and painting was my saving grace during my nearly two-year adventure!! Since then, I’ve also learned mosaics, which I adore, and mixed media. Art has become a beacon of light for my soul, and I love to make and gift my projects to others. Now being able to share my love of art with others as I teach, encourage and share my love of being creative, has given me so much joy! It’s my pleasure to be a part of Jump Into Art!
