Alcohol Ink with Karren Case: 3 Week Workshop on October 11, 18 and 25

McKinney artist, Karren Case, invites you to discover creating art with vibrant, versatile, alcohol inks. During this four-week comprehensive course, you will learn how to paint using this medium. Karren will teach you how to work with colors and with the unexpected flow of the inks on both tiles and specialty papers. You’ll start with abstract florals and abstract landscapes using simple tools as you drip, splatter, and let your inks run. As you advance through the course, you will learn techniques to control your inks using brushes and brush techniques. You will be “painting” with this wonderful medium! At the end of the course, you will go home with a vibrant 9x12 painted piece of art that you will be proud to display in your home.
This 3 week program is the perfect introduction or continuing education on the art of liquid ink, Alcohol Ink. Students learn, have fun and leave with great art. Week 1: Colors and Flow on tiles.
Week 2: Colors and Flow on Yupo art paper and learn how to control the inks using brushes.
Week 3: In this final class, you will be painting your choice of a landscape or still-life using brushes with some of the tools from the preceding classes on an 8x10 piece of Yupo art paper. However, before you jump into your final piece of art we will take some time to discuss and explore several art concepts that will help you develop this painting and your paintings going forward. 3 week program combines week 2 and 3 together.
