Join in this super addicting workshop series with Beth Matlock. Take a single session or join all the classes. Beth is our studio favorite with the perfect blend of supportive teacher, knowledgeable artist, and helpful art coach.
All materials included (students work on 300lb ARCHES COLD PRESSED watercolor papers).
Portrait 2 Ways: Students create 2 separate art works. First, students work to draw and then paint with watercolors (bring a full color face or use the studios, 8" x 10" is best). Next, Beth demonstrates portion, depth, layering, shadow and wet on wet techniques to create an original art piece. Studio provides 300 lb Arches watercolor paper and watercolor paint, feel free to bring personal watercolor paints. Student brings full color photo or image to use as practice.
Small Arts: Using a variety of techniques to create smaller art work (a variety of sizes available but about 4 partial sheets of Arches watercolor paper - 3" x 5" size is average) to frame or turn into art cards. Students learn layering, negative, abstract, wet on wet and dry on wet principles.
Botanicals: Students work on serval small art works or one larger to create flowering trees, flowers in a vase and whatever one fancies. Tiny and large petals plus layering techniques offered. Arches watercolor paper and all paints included.
