Glass Fusing is creating art with melting glass through heating in a special glass kiln. The process of snipping, cutting, sanding and applying colored glass to create a personal piece of art is addicting. Students work under the guidance of the wonderful Deanna Smith. Studio will fuse and return 2-4 weeks later.
Open to all skill levels, no previous glass art experience is necessary.
Glass Fusing Jewelry: - a beautiful and straightforward class for the student wishing to make customized earrings and pendants. Create up to 4 items (total) and includes all supplies, firings and jewelry findings/art will be returned in 2-4 weeks time.
Wind Chimes: March 30 - students will learn cutting, snipping, attaching and designing 4 pieces to later hang on wooden sticks. Work may be designed with samples from our studio or feel free to bring a black and white image to work from.
Frit Design: April 20 - students work on a large clear glass substrate to make an amazing and beautiful design using frit and small pieces of glass. The process of snipping, cutting, sanding and applying colored glass to create a personal piece of art is addicting. Students work on 2 small or one larger piece of glass. Studio will fuse and return 2-4 weeks later.
Plant Stakes: May 4 - imagine creating beautiful and colorful stakes for your plants, flowers and garden. Everythign will come alive with these made-by-you plant stakes. Students learn the basics of cutting and preparing your project for the fusing process. Each artist can make up to 3 plant stakes.
